The concept for this project was to make an Island holding a collective mind map in littoral space with ideas, suggestions, and thoughts washing ashore. This was done with my colleagues help in the MA during our mapping semester. The individual maps submitted were done by Fiona Hayes, Terry Farnell, Dianne Curtain, D. Martins Lerias. The island was then used in class with our lecturer Glenn Loughran for group feedback and support using sticky notes.
These maps were connected via a mid line that enters one side of each map and exists the other. These A1 Sheets were displayed on an island sculpture in a continuous circle. This creates a democratic holding space for thought and support.
